The primary aim of lake restoration is to safeguard water bodies as habitats and not for recreation.
The lakes listed below, and their ongoing restoration efforts, emphasize a key message:
Conservation is a Collaborative Effort
E.F.I thanks the Tiruvallur and Chengalpet district administrations
for the continued support in the restoration of these water bodies.
Keezhkattalai Lake
E.F.I in action on field since 2012. Still battling encroachment and
seasonal challenges such as Cyclone/flood debris. Work non-stop in progress.

Kollapanchery Lake
Successful government intervention to remove encroachment
added 7 acres to the lake. A lake restored and now further protected.

Poonamalle Lake
E.F.I thanks the Tiruvallur and Chengalpet district administrations
for the continued support in the restoration of these water bodies.

Tiruneermalai Chitteri
Highway water body, still a few encroachments, sewage flowing in. Efforts on to
revive and protect this lake and prevent it from transforming into an urban neighborhood.

When communities come together to protect water bodies, we can go #TogetherTowardsTomorrow.
